Zoom Hole is a free browser game operated by the Zoom Hole team. This page explains what the game stores on your device and what it sends to our server. We have tried to keep both the game and this page short and honest.

Stored on your device

The game uses your browser's local storage — not cookies — to remember your settings and progress. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us automatically, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Sent to our server

Nothing is sent while you play. When a run ends and a score is submitted to the leaderboard, we receive the display name you chose, the score, and statistics about the run — how long it lasted, how many objects you swallowed, and how large you became. These statistics exist to detect impossible scores, not to profile you.

We do not store your IP address. Our server derives a one-way salted hash from it, which we use only to rate-limit submissions and investigate abuse. The original address cannot be recovered from the hash.

We do not ask for or store an email address, and the game has no user accounts. A display name is whatever you type; please do not use your full name or any other personal detail, as submitted names appear publicly on the leaderboard.

Advertising

Zoom Hole loads Google AdSense on every page. Google is an independent controller of the data it collects there: it may read and write cookies or similar device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and, depending on your own Google settings, to personalise them. We never send Google your display name, your score, or anything else from the game.

You can review and change what Google does with your data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and your ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.

The REVIVE option after a run ends is the only ad the game itself asks for, and it is always optional — the game is fully playable without it.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records aggregate traffic only: it sets no cookies, builds no profile, and does not follow you to other sites. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs for security and reliability.

Children

Zoom Hole is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted a display name that identifies them, contact us and we will remove it.

Retention

Leaderboard entries are kept so the all-time board remains meaningful. Rate-limiting hashes are short-lived. Local storage on your device persists until you clear it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because we store so little, the practical case is usually removing a leaderboard entry. Email legal@zoomvoid.com with enough detail to identify the entry and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
